But players were surprised when the Fortnite Items moment Day 14 was the event only shut down completely and gamers weren't able to finish any of the lingering challenges. Even though Fortnite introduces new challenges every week, players have the course of the entire season to complete them (more, for specific character challenges), so to get this challenging cut like this was jarring. You'd imagine there would be a winner week or something to end up, and now there will be as Epic walks this back.
Epic's original fix for the 14 Days of Fortnite issue was to simply give the glider to everybody. But that's just 1 item and gamers wanted to hunt down all 14 gifts if they were able.
Here's the full announcement:"We carried an incorrect end date for the 14 Days of Fortnite event and didn't believe the Equalizer Glider compensation was the right approach. After further discussion, we've decided to bring this occasion early next week by January 15 at 3 AM ET(0800 UTC). We'll also be enabling some of the most popular Limited Time Modes which were available throughout the function.
Players that were not able to finish those fantasies will be able to make the rewards they may have initially missed out all on. All Winners will soon be available to finish for the whole length of the event. Unfortunately, progress on partly finished challenges has to be flashed."
